A Mother's Day Treat

Here was a Mother's Day treat prepared by my Daughter. This was her first time making not only a Quiche but a first time in the kitchen without mom.
She made this beautiful card along with some neat gifts that I will share soon.
My Mother's Day lunch was perfect and yummy.
This is the cookbook that she purchased at Barns and Nobel a couple of weeks ago and she gave it a test run. We have in California a really neat grocery store called Trader Joe's and always a fun place to shop (looking at the listing at the back of the book there are Trader Joe's stores in several state). For beginning cooks this book is perfect. All the ingredients can be found at Trader Joe's. She will be leaving the nest soon to return back to school for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. We are so proud of her. She will be doing all of her cooking on her own. So far, she is off to a good start.
Here is a very tasty salad also found in the book called strawberry and gorgonzola herb salad.
Also a Mimosa too. : )

The weather for Mother's Day was very cloudy and we had early light rain but over all a nice day.
The rose area is in full bloom and what a treat. The patio tree roses are doing great in the rose area.
Henry Fonda bush is just blooming with bright yellow flowers.
The new-be rose first blooming is just beautiful.
As well as the mini, confection JACute with all its flowers.

I hope all of you Moms had a good day too.
Thank you for taking time to visit my blog . Have a good day.
