Nasturtiums - Yellow

These are  nasturtiums called "fiesta blend".  The packet had a mixture of oranges and yellows. I sowed seeds last year and only the orange ones came up. Click here to see the orange nasturtiums
This year a yellow one showed up in my raised bed.

(Click on to the Photos to see them larger)

Picking a nice bouquet of sweet peas I thought  a few of the nasturtium flowers would add a nice pop of color.

The one plant produces a lot of flowers.  They would look pretty in a salad.
They also make a sweet little bouquet on their own too.

I will try to save some of their seeds.

Over the weekend Hubby and I did some gardening.  Getting  the raised bed and vegetable area ready for the cantaloup, cucumbers, basil and tomatoes. We will be making a trip to the garden center to see if there are any other flowers and vegetables to add to the garden.

Hello Bobbie Lynn,

Love the Nasturtiums, they last quite a while in the vase. I love this flower as they pop up each year. Saw some variegated ones in the shop the other week, was tempted but left them.

Happy gardening.

Nature always has some surprises in store for us how strange the yellow ones didn't appear last year! I love the taste of a few leaves and flowers in a salad.
